Maze Muncher (“the app”, “we”) is an arcade game suitable for a general audience, including children. This policy explains what the app collects and why. We keep it minimal on purpose.
What the app stores on your device
The app saves the following locally on your device only: your settings (sound, music, haptics, language), your birth year (used once to keep the game age-appropriate), your best score and furthest level, your selected skins and colors, and your chosen leaderboard name. This never leaves your device except as described below.
What the app sends to our servers
The app is playable fully offline. Data leaves your device only in these cases:
- Leaderboard. Your scores and name are kept on your device. If an online global leaderboard is enabled in the app and you choose to submit a score, only a display name, your score, the level reached, and an anonymous, randomly-generated identifier (not tied to your real identity) are sent to our leaderboard service (Google Firebase / Firestore). For players under 13, the display name is an app-generated handle (e.g. “SwiftFox482”) — never a name typed by the child — so no personal information is shared. Submitting is optional.
- Subscriptions. Purchases of NEON PRO are processed by Google Play. We do not receive or store your payment details; the store tells the app only whether an active subscription exists.
What we do NOT collect
We do not collect your real name, email, phone number, contacts, photos, precise location, or advertising identifiers. There are no third-party ads and no ad tracking or profiling.
Children’s Privacy (COPPA & Google Play Families)
Maze Muncher is suitable for a general audience, including children. We comply with the U.S. Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and Google Play’s Families Policy.
What we collect from children. The app requires no account and never asks a child for their real name, email, phone number, photos, or precise location. When a player indicates (via a one-time neutral age question) that they are under 13, the app does not accept a free-text public name — a non-identifying random handle is used instead — and an automated filter blocks offensive content.
No advertising or tracking. We show no third-party ads and never use children’s data for advertising, profiling, or tracking. We do not knowingly sell or share children’s personal information.
Parental rights. A parent or guardian may review, request deletion of, or refuse further collection of their child’s information by emailing hello@mrbooz.com. We act on verified requests promptly. If you believe a child provided us personal information without parental consent, contact us and we will delete it.
Data retention & deletion
On-device data stays until you delete the app. Any leaderboard entry persists until removed on request. To request deletion, contact us at the email below with your display name and approximate score, and we will remove it.
Security
Any data sent to the leaderboard is transmitted over encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS).
Changes
We may update this policy; the “Last updated” date will change accordingly.
